Om arrangementet

(the event will be in english)
Climate litigation has proven to be a powerful tool for promoting climate awareness and action in recent years. From local courtrooms in Norway to landmark cases in the Global South, legal action is shaping not only policy, but also public debate, understandings of responsibility, and collective mobilization.

This event aims to examine to what extent litigation can drive climate action and awareness, and how legal frameworks interact with public opinion and political will.

Participants will look at what can be used as evidence in climate litigation, how civil society initiate such claims, how climate litigation affects law and policy, and how these processes shape and are shaped by public awareness and media narratives. By connecting perspectives from research, law, media, and policy, the meeting will show the extent to which litigation can act as a driver for climate awareness and collective action.
