“Vendepunkt” for rights? Norway's response to the global crisis for adolescents SRHR
Arrangeres av Internasjonale SRHR-nettverket
Onsdag 12. august
Kl. 15:00 – 16:00
Om arrangementet
Around the world, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are under growing pressure. Adolescents and youth are among those most affected — through reduced access to healthcare, shrinking civic space, and attacks on bodily autonomy and gender equality. At the same time, Norway is shaping the future direction of its development policy through the ongoing “Vendepunkt” process.
This event brings adolescents and youth from Norway and partner countries into direct dialogue with the Minister of International Development on how Norway should respond to the global rights crisis, and what role adolescent's SRHR should play in Norwegian development policy going forward.
The conversation will combine interventions from adolescent/youth speakers bringing forward urgent challenges and initiatives, with a political dialogue on rights, priorities and Norway’s global leadership on SRHR and gender equality in a more challenging international context.
Programme:
• Welcome by the International SRHR-network
• Moderator, Uswa Malik, Norwegian UN Youth Delegate on Health
• Interventions from adolescents/youth from Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Norway.
• Intervention by the Norwegian Minister of International Development, Åsmund Grøver Aukrust
• Panel discussion
• Q&A
• Closing remark by the International SRHR-network
The event will be in english
