Om arrangementet
Geopolitical tensions are escalating. Confrontations between nations are intensifying, authoritarian leaders are consolidating power, and hybrid attacks have become a daily reality. Meanwhile, international governance mechanisms are being tested, while the global commitment to renewable energy is weakening. Funding is shifting from green initiatives to the development of the defense sector—an evolution that threatens the Paris Agreement and the world’s climate ambitions.
At the national level, a fierce battle is unfolding over energy resources for power-intensive industries. New hyperscalers such as Google, Meta, Amazon and Microsoft are planning large-scale data centers requiring vast amounts of energy. This development raises crucial questions about Norway's energy allocation and long-term national strategy.
This year’s "The Future of Energy" conference will explore:
- How is the new geopolitical reality reshaping the role of energy globally?
- How secure is our energy supply, and what preparedness strategies are necessary?
- What changes are expected in the energy mix, and which energy carriers will dominate?
- How does Norway’s traditional industry view power needs in light of hyperscaler demands?
Panel Debate
When energy demands skyrocket, who should take priority?
Refreshments will be served from 16:00 - 16:15.
